Andrew's New Acro & Monti Setup

Postby andrewo on 19 May 2016 22:21

Hi folks, had been super mad uber busy last few weeks moving home, workplace and....tanks! Finally able to download some pictures. Tanks( I took my 6 foot frontosa tank with me too) are all one big mess at the moment but it'll get there eventually....I hope!

The move was not ideal as I didnt have much time to transfer the tanks but more of that later; some pictures for now. Overall system of the marine setup just under 150 gallons.

Full specs and more pictures to follow.
Many thanks to Mossy and Keith for the tank. Mo for the invaluable tips and advice and the in-house zeovit experts Robbie and Derek. Too many others to mention but thanks to all.

Hi folks. Happy June Bank Holiday. Been a looong time...to continnue.....was hoping that the new setup wont be as 'messy' as the previous one.

The previous one:-

After move but without time to really clean and set things up properly. I know....it cant possibly be more messy now haha....

Lots of work to be done. Due to short notice to move tanks; all I could hope to do was to keep the livestock alive. I tweaked with the current zeovit system and cut out 50% lights. First wc after a month. Some algae in tank as I removed most fishes from setup to allow for other 'softer' fishes like wrasses and anthias to be introduced first. Cycling some dry rocks (thanks in part to Paul) at the moment to do a proper landscape. Overall lucky to have lost just the one or two colonies and my 6 line wrasse; corals quite browned out but I'm sure will return in time.
Will continue update. Thanks for looking.

Some latest pictures. Polyp extensions seems to be back. Added 3rd wavemaker which prob helped. Plan is to have 4 inside eventually to provide adequate flow to the whole tank. Having lots of green algae due to lack of clean up crew and a tang or two. Move things a little but tank still in a mess.

Such pretty pictures. Thanks for sharing! I always stayed away from SPS corals - I guess all the talk about how difficult they are to care for just always kept me away. Your photos are very inspiring :D
