Hi Siobhan, it's still very much a work in progress. Thanks for the kind words, hopefully some FTSs soon! :)

Gosh its been a while! Thought I would post some updates after everything moved over. Most corals I moved since I came back from holidays still pale white due to the accident;which I have tucked away to the side of the tank.

Lost all acros and my flame angel :( during the accident. More so as he doesnt ever go near the corals. But could have been worse....
My apologies for the quality of the pictures..

Thanks Graham! Long way to go yet. Its almost a FTS above as the right side is all just white skeletons...

Might just convert it to another small island unit for more space.:)

Thanks! Sorry for delay in getting back to you. Weather has been too good lately to stay inside for tanks. :D

Will post some pictures soon. Tank is going ok. Still with zeovits. It's really a pain to shake it twice a day....so it will either be an automatic reactor or bio pellets down the line.

A shame to move away from zeovits as their latest range of automatic elements is making things easier.

Gosh how time just flew by. Almost a year coming up when I purchased the tank! Filled with water and up and cycling first week of October 2013.

These are some pictures from August:

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=23556

Nothing much changed from then. Just few observations.

- Salifert refractocheck was the best purchase I made; I always overlooked salinity in favour of KH and calcium to my detriment. For a few euros its been great help. Very important parameter.

- Also next time I will cycle with good quality liverock as my tank took almost 3 months to settle.

- Skimmer wise I went through Deltec APf 600 then changed to bubble magus curve 7; found deltec much better in pulling out the gunk etc.

All in all zeovit was a good choice for me in maintaining the tank; changes happen very slowly if you follow the instructions. So for me it was good as Im away a week here and there. The parameters dont swing wildly. I guess after almost a year the tank has matured....fingers cross. Though not all corals are thriving; some Im still moving around after few months! :)

Playing around with some ATI bulbs: curently running leds with 3 coral plus;2 blue plus & 1 purple plus.
Tried aquablue special which is meant to help with growth but dont like it; kinda dark.
