Stripping the tank for repair

Postby Trev on 12 Dec 2014 16:36

So I have to empty my tank so that I can get the leak repaired.
I had a good layer of jbl substrate on the bottom with quartz gravel over it.
This is all going to get mixed into a heap while empting it.
So the question is should I
Wash the substrate out of the gravel and start scratch with new substrate
Wash out the substrate and not bother replacing it
Put back in the mix of quartz and old substrate and try to vacum it clean when its full
Put back the mix and cover it with clean sand or gravel

Decisions decisions
What would you do?
