Beginner Tank

Hi all

Looking for some advice on a new fish tank. I want to grow some vegetation in this tank specifically grass, and a few plants. Okay I'm looking a few tanks-

Fluval Edge- way too small, very small opening, but I absolutely love it. I'm trying to pick one up second hand, and replace the lights with some modded led's on the net. More sensible option is a Rekord 600 or something similar.

I had a bigger Jewel a few years ago, and more through beginners luck, the fish had a happy existence! My big regret was always failing to set up the tank up properly. I love grass in a tank, but I've heard it gets dirty quite quickly. Can anyone advise on some low maintenance vegetation for a beginner, or point me in the direction of some good threads.

Thanks in advance!

Grass? I can only assume what species you are referring to:
-Helanthium tenellum (aka Echinodorus tenellus)
-Eleocharis acicularis
-Lilaeopsis mauritiana
-Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
-Eleocharis sp. 'mini'
-Utricularia graminifolia
-Sagittaria subulata

Have a google and see which one you want to grow
You can't fix stupid.
