Tank, Lighting and everything else

Postby Colins65 on 26 Aug 2018 20:37

My Skimmer pump failed today following yet another power cut in the area and I've lost heart.
That and the good lady won't approve me spending yet more money on the tank, so I am reluctantly looking at selling the whole shebang. I'd prefer to sell everything in one go, if possible. Photos at the bottom of the post - poor quality phone camera, sorry.

What would be a reasonable price to request for the following?

Display Tank is 200 x 60 x 60cm
Sump was designed for the Triton method (don't have the spec's to hand).

Hardware
2 * 300W Heaters
Ultra-Reef UFF 003 Fluidized Filter
TMC REEF Pump DC 8000
ATO - Tunze Osmolator 3155 *one month old*
Reef motion 3KDC (for reactor)
Lighting 2 x ATI Hybrid Power Module 8x39W (60cm in length)
GHL Doser 2
Skimmer - Deltec 1660 (pump died today - otherwise fine)

Please note none of the hardware is over 20 months old and some are almost brand new.
Most of the fish have been with me for a minimum of 1-2 years except the Anthias which are new.

Inhabitants
1 Purple Tang
3 Yellow Tangs
1 Lipstick Tang
1 Blue Tang
1 Majectic Angel
2 Common Clown Fish
2 Royal Grammas
2 Bangai Cardinals (breeding - 3 offspring in the sump, last I looked).
1 Golden Neon Goby
1 Flame Hawk Fish
1 Carberryi Anthias
4 Bartletts Anthias
1 Fire Shrimp
1 Red Starfish
A dozen crabs/snails or so.

SPS/LPS/Soft corals
some live rock but mostly Aquaroche

Forgot to mention:

The wave maker is a Maxspect XF250 with the Advanced Gyre Controller - about a year old.
I have about a dozen half/quarter filled Triton supplement bottles (Calcium/Magnesium etc) as well as 4 x 1.5 litre EASI-Dose Dosing Containers (a triple container and a single container) - visible in photo #3.
I have a dozen and one other bits & bobs to throw in (or not) as well.

I am based in Kildare - just off the Curragh (J12 on the M7).

Hi,

I don't want to sell anything like the ATO until I have an offer for the tank/lighting, as anyone buying would most likely also want an ATO.

It is certainly something we can re-visit, once I have some clarity on the tank/lighting though.

Thanks.

Hi there, would be keen on a few things -

The dosing containers
The doser
The wavemaker
Perhaps a few corals

Can you drop me a PM to discuss?

Hi Colins65,

It looks like your running a deltec skimmer, if the air pump has failed have you tried reseating the impeller and trying it again.

You will need the black tool that comes with the skimmer to do this.

I run a deltec tc2060 and have to do it from time to time on power cuts.

Looks like you have a great set up there so I wouldn't be too rash in breaking it down, this hobby has a way of kicking you when your down.

I'll try to pull the Deltec 1660 skimmer apart and put it together again - have done so a few times in the past couple of days to no avail. Same issue occurred with a previous power cut. Nonetheless, the gf has told me to look at selling.

The tank is 200 x 60 x 60cm, sitting on an aluminium stand.
The cabinet around the three sides is 'walnut'.

The display tank and sump was €2500. The cabinet & stand was €900. The ATI lighting was approximately €2800. The return pump is new-ish - replaced following a power cut last summer.

I 'd like €1500 for the tank/sump/stand/cabinet & return pump.

You'll need minimum 5 posts to reply.

I echo the sentiments - great setup; such a pity...

Hi All,

I am meeting someone on Monday next week to view the tank/sump/cabinet/ATI lighting.

If this works out, the buyer would not be interested in the fish, corals or remaining hardware.
That being the case I'll contact those who've pm'ed me to discuss the other items.

Thanks. Colin.

I have agreement with someone to buy the tank/sump/cabinet/lighting - as the buyer is not in a rush I can take my time selling the fish, corals and remaining hardware.

Larger Fish:
1 Purple Tang - €75
3 Yellow Tangs - €180 for the three Yellow Tangs
1 Lipstick Tang - €75
1 Blue Tang - €60
1 Majestic Angel - €75
or
€380 for the seven fish listed above.
I've had all these for 3+ years, except for the Blue Tang which I received about a year ago.

Smaller livestock
2 Common Clown Fish - €30 for the pair.
2 Royal Grammas - €50 for both.
2 Bangai Cardinals (breeding - 3 offspring in the sump, last I looked). €40 for the pair.
1 Golden Neon Goby - €25
1 Flame Hawk Fish - €50
1 Carberryi Anthias - €20
2 Bartletts Anthias - €60 for both
1 Green Mandarin Dragonet - €25
1 Sleeper Gold Head Goby - €25
1 Fire Shrimp - €20
1 Red Starfish - €15

If anyone is interested, I'd prefer to know which fish a day in advance, as catching them will no doubt be challenging!

Let me know if you need any photos posted or any further information.
