hope this helps

seen some people on the Lee the other day. Let's not get started on my opinion about these in-considered b*****ds when it comes to people fishing

I don't remember where I was discussing this before.

Basic plan was a group of lads some rods some kayaks some booze and the 2 canals. Start in Dublin go away and come back a few days later.
Any other day, Id say no. But today I'm just gonna go ahead and say NO.

I've always wanted to go to the Arctic, and kayaking up there would be on my list of things to do there, alas, again, not a cheap area to see.
I also plan to get to Iceland, and would like to do it there, along with diving, white water rafting, fishing, etc, etc.Again, not cheap.

I can recommend this place in Kenmare using it at the moment. 30 euro for 2 hours incl. wetsuit or around 200 yo yos for weekend tuition course.

Anymore thoughts on this Joe? Real keen at the minute, and trying to get ideas for a kayak.Kayak fishing is huge in NZ over the last couple of years, could look in to it here.My biggest issue(apart from cost, would be storage.
Going to look into doing a course or 2,just to get some ideas, and get chatting to people who know what they're talking about.

yeah lots more, bought a three seater kayak ......(for jacks birthday ;) have been out nearly every day sun rain wind , whatever........... absolutly mental!! first day into the sea turned over on the first big wave the poor child nearly had a heart attack! he still has a bruise on his arse where the kayak turned over on him, if the child protection agency see it i will be jailed!! looks like the result of a a well placed back side kick
but in fairness to him he has kept at it, had a think about it today and decided to go off and but a couple of life jackets, just in case!!
off to kilbrittian beach in the morning, and planning on going down to that lake near macroom later in the week.
but as for the fishing, hav'nt tried it yett ,but have seen a lot of fish up close in the sea recently, so maybe soon , once we manage to keep the bost the right way up and stay in it!!
open the window there please, just to let the bull@h1t out.... thanks

Shop just opened here selling kayaks and there's a strong club going that use the local rivers such as the Blackwater or against the waves in the sea, thinking about going a go or two but worried I won't fit into the kayak as middle age spread is starting to spread, and spread.Talking to the lads they say it's a great craic but........ :D .Maybe have to talk to some friends and make the commitment then can't back out

OMG what madness. No life jackets! Seriously I don't want to dampen your spirits Joe but my neighbour lost their daughter (19 yrs old) 10 months ago to drowning under a canoe and my cousin drowned doing this. I have a lot of respect for water. I don't want to throw a spanner in the works but feel the need to explain it's not safe and you should take uptmost safety precautions when doing anything with water. I'm a freak I know but you can understand there are people not experienced here who need to hear this advice, I think?

no worries Bella, i bought two sat morning!, i am from a fishing / seaside town myself and could probably name dozens of people i know who have drowned, so i shoud have had more sense!! but the gods decided that it was not my time.
my next plan of safety action is i am taking up swimming lessons in the winter coming,
