Postby colonelclown on 08 Jan 2017 14:13

Hi all, happy new year. quick question i am thinking of setting up a large cichlid tank later this year and was wondering if anyone has had any issues with placing a large tank on a floor that has underfloor heating. will the weight be an issue. i have no clue anyone with any experience or thoughts would be great. thanks :D

The weight of the tank will put excess pressure on the pipes in the concrete and could fracture the pipes. Sometimes the pipes are a distance away from wall but you would need to check. Also the load bearing tolerance might be OK. Check with a manufacturer.

If the weight is spread across the Base of the cabinet rather than on a couple of feet I can't see it being an issue.
