Postby Anthony on 18 Feb 2013 13:19

Hi guys,

We are always looking for new members to join the club. The meetings are always very interesting,
you get to meet forum members in person plus there is always a bit of banter going on.
We cater for everyone, from complete novices to world reknowned experts like me
I have set up this poll to get an idea if our on line members would be interested in joing the club.
Please give an honest answer. We want to make the club as attractive as possible and to cater for
all hobbiests.

Please leave some feedback with your answer.

1 thing i always thought was it was just a pity the meetings only seem to be held in the 1 place, it might be an idea for the club to also have meetings in various locations around the greater area's and by doing so putting in an effort on their part while showing an apreciation towards more members who have contributed towards the club.
i would join myself but even if i have 10e spare these days i feel well off and find it hard to part with it  ... the only club i'm in any more is the local fishing club.

join and i'm sure you'll meet the other members... personally i don't see the relevance in that question but anyhow

I couldn't justify travelling to a meeting but would love to meet you lads for a chat and share the odd glass even though i've met some of you already. Sometimes though I think it's odd that the forum is the Irish fish forum yet the clubs are more regional, I understand that those from Cork couldn't travel to Dublin and vice versa but might the different clubs join forces but have meetings in different places ie Dublin , Limerick, Cork etc. Maybe share competitions, drive for members and even the use of a section of the forum to further club interests . I find the club great for meeting like minded individual and share experiences on a informal setting plus a great way to ask 'silly' questions that some might not be comfortable voicing.

There was talk a few years ago, Mr JD, about us all meeting up in an establishment somewhere for a night of, um, 'aquatics chat'. However, as with all good plans, we couldn't get a date to suit the majority.

Maybe we could discuss this further?

Who said they were too expert?

For those who think they're 'too inexperienced', you're not, and if you were, that would be a great reason to come along, to lshow up those who think they know everything.

The true meaning was for us to find out what would make the club more attractive to join is if there were reasons stopping potential members from joining.

We don`t want any langers in the club anyway so Holger and Dave can go an f...

Seriously though. We discussed a get together before and nothing materialised from it.
It would be nice to organise it and maybe one or two of us could do a talk on an aspect of fish keeping.
