Anyone keeping these.
I have not kept them years ago and dound them but a very interesting species.
I plan to keep them with small fish. Is this a disaster waiting to happen or would the fish be fine.
As far as I can remember their mouths are very small and they wouldnt be able to eat small fish..

Yeah, Anthony you should have no probs keeping fish with them. I had them in a 4ft tank half full with a shoal of Mountain cloud minnows, Their actually what got me into fish keeping. As I said it was half full & had a platform for the newts to come out of the water, great little creatures to watch they were breeding away like mad, just had to catch the babies so the minnows wouldn't eat them. I ended up have giant crested newts aswell in the same setup, you have me thinking now, but I doubt she would let me setup another tank :(

Hi Dan.

I am very intersted in this being a sort of Paludarium. Having a centre weir sort of rules it out
but there will be bog wood and some sort of platfrom stickin out of the tank.
If you can give me information on potential reptiles or inverts for the tank it would be great..
