Next job was the sump. I measured the inside of the cabinit which was 20"x18"x18".
I got the glass 6mm from AA emergency glass in finglas village(highly recommend these guys).
I jigsawed out middle support to right height and depth, then added a 1" metal bar to support piece i had removed. Looks like this now.................

One of my first jobs was to sort out the lights, there were two reasons for this. First reason was that the lights were shining straight in my eyes while watching tv, second reason was that i wanted to add some actinic lights.

I got some MDF and made a hood, this housed my 150w halide and a twin 39w T5 i bought . I designed it so lights were 9" above the water and hood could slide for easy maintance and feeding.

After a lot of reading, i discovered that bio balls where not the best type of filtration  . And the skimmer and filter were taking up a lot of space. :hand: So i had a dellema, sell it off and start again or convert it to the way i wanted it.
If you look closely you will see that there already was a hole for cables, so it was just a matter of removing
the unwanted glass(hammer and stanley knife) and fitting a bulk-head for drainage to the sump.

Hi All,
After visiting my lfs about 2yrs ago I decided to buy a fish tank, now my problem was that i have never even kept a gold fish before this. I loved the colours of the marine fish, So when i heard of a friend of a friend was selling his marinetank i jumped at the chance.

This tank was an Aquamedic 3x2x2, it came with a stand, built in trickle filter, skimmer and 150w halide light
