new marine set up

here are some pics of my new set up still in the early stages
40kg live rock
20kg ocean rock
sump : first section, sock, v2 1500, some live rock frags
second section sponge, coral chips,carbon,rowaphos
3rd section 2x300w heaters,return pump,top up float switch
stock
11 hermits
11 snails
2 clowns
1 box fish
1 banner
1 dotty back
3 chromis blue

1 mushroom

looking good ,i have the same tank, they are a great setup. one thing you might keep an eye on is the hose connections both on the return and on the suppled pump they are made of very brittle plastic and seem to crack when they are tighten up even with very little force..look forward to seeing more photos..

fair play to yeah, its looking good..you might take a brake on adding any more livestock for a while, just to let everything settle in and to let your live-rock filter catch up with the extra demand put on it. i see from some of your other post you are looking for advice on what fish and corals to stock, this all depends on what you already have in the tank as some fish don't get along with others and the same with corals, so it might be a good idea to get yourself a good book on reef tanks so as you can bring it with you when you go to buy livestock so you can tell straight away if a fish or coral would be right for your tank

thanks for the reply im not putting anymore fish in for a while want more rock first about another 10kg and 2 or 3 more in the sump how long should it take for my rock to get up to speed with filtration im doing about 10% water change a week could i keep adding coral. will coral put much demand on the system

added another few bits of live rock last night so up to just over 60kg think im done bar a few small bits ill put in the sump

i have the same system myself the only thing i would say is to put a small fan into the sump or leave
the doors open an inch or two this stops the frame from warping :!:

have been leaving the door open a small bit but a fan is a good idea where did you get a small fan
